Kentucky Fried Cruelty

“If people knew how KFC treats their chickens they’d never eat another drumstick”  – Pamela Anderson

What’s up KFC !!!!!!!! Doing wrong things in the right way seems to be the new mantra. The new age saying “Everything is legal until you get caught” seems to end for KFC. Its been a long and strenuous effort by animal lovers [Peta] across the world to stop merciless killing against cute, beautiful and helpless animals but nothing fruitful has come-up atleast with KFC.

KFC suppliers cram birds into huge waste-filled factories, breed and drug them to grow so large that they can’t even walk, and often break their wings and legs. At slaughter, the birds’ throats are slit and they are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water—often while they are still conscious. It would be illegal for KFC to abuse dogs, cats, pigs, or cows in these ways.

KFC’s own animal welfare advisors have asked the company to take steps to eliminate these abuses, but KFC refuses to do so. Many advisors have now resigned in frustration.

Animals are made of flesh, blood and bone, just as we are. They have emotions and unique personalities, and they feel pain. They also create families and relationships with other animals, if given the chance.

As part of PETA, animal lovers and people who care for well being of their fellow-beings are holding a demo in a prominent location in Bangalore on 14-AUG-2010. These rare breed of lovable souls will be educating people and creating an awareness among the masses about the merciless killings of innocent animals.

But why KFC ??

*  The roughly 1 billion chickens killed each year for KFC’s buckets are crammed by the tens of thousands into excrement-filled sheds that stink of ammonia fumes.
* The birds’ legs and wings often break because they’re bred to be too top-heavy and because workers carelessly shove them into transport crates and shackles.
* Chickens’ throats are slit and the animals are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water to remove their feathers, often while they are still conscious and able to feel pain.
* KFC lets frustrated factory-farm and slaughterhouse workers handle live birds, so many of the animals end up being sadistically abused. At a KFC “Supplier of the Year” slaughterhouse in West Virginia, workers were documented tearing the heads off live birds, spitting tobacco into their eyes, spray-painting their faces, and violently stomping on them. This was discovered more than two years after KFC promised PETA that it was taking animal welfare seriously.
* KFC hides behind its Animal Welfare Advisory Council, even though five members of the council have resigned in frustration. One of them, Adele Douglass, told the Chicago Tribune that KFC “never had any meetings. They never asked any advice, and then they touted to the press that they had this animal-welfare advisory committee. I felt like I was being used.”

How KFC Can Clean Up Its Act

PETA wants KFC to adopt the animal welfare program  developed by five members of its own animal welfare board. These advisors are the world’s top poultry experts; they advise the meat industry in North America and Europe and believe that KFC can—and should—adopt them. KFC has yet to do any of the following:

* Adopt the “Animal Care Standards” program. This would lower the amount of ammonia in the air in factory farms, improve the living spaces and lighting in chicken sheds, prohibit the intentional starving of breeding birds, and ensure that birds are provided with mental and physical stimulation.
* Switch to controlled-atmosphere killing (CAK). This would prevent live birds in slaughterhouses from being abused by workers, having their throats slit, or being scalded while they were still conscious. CAK would also improve conditions for workers and decrease contamination levels in chickens’ flesh.
* Switch to mechanized chicken gathering. This would drastically reduce the number of broken bones and painful bruising that birds endure when factory-farm workers carelessly throw them into transport crates.
* Breed for health rather than rapid growth, and stop feeding drugs to chickens. This would reduce the rate at which birds suffer painful, crippling diseases and injuries, such as broken legs, heart attacks, and lung failures.
* Make all welfare standards transparent and verifiable. This would simply ensure that the animal welfare program is being adhered to through announced and unannounced independent audits (the results of which must be made available to the public through KFC’s Web site).

Its time to act. Watch these videos now !!!!!!!

” I urge KFC to adopt the recommendations of PETA – and its own animal welfare advisors – to ensure that the gentle, intelligent animals who end up in its boxes and buckets each day are treated with at least the bare minimum of respect” – Pink

Give McCruelty the Bird!

Forgive us, but sometimes being polite just doesn’t work and we at Peta want nothing more but to stop cruelty against innocent animals.

The big wigs who are running the golden bloody arches won’t lift a finger to change their evil ways and support a less cruel method of chicken slaughter. So why don’t you lift your finger for them? Here is your chance to give McDonald’s and the ruthless clown the ol’ finger for birds everywhere.

Thousands of chickens are tortured daily by McDonald’s suppliers in the U.S. and Canada. These helpless birds have their throats cut while they’re still conscious, and many birds are scalded to death in tanks of hot water. While this act of protest may not be for the refined among you, what McDonald’s does to birds seems to warrant some extreme rudeness—so c’mon and raise your hands in the air and wave that middle finger like you just don’t care!

In the slaughterhouses of McDonald’s U.S. and Canadian chicken suppliers, birds are dumped out of their transport crates and hung upside down in metal shackles, which can result in broken bones, extreme bruising, and hemorrhaging. Workers have the opportunity to abuse live birds, and birds have their throats cut while they are still conscious. Many birds are immersed in tanks of scalding-hot water while they are still alive and able to feel pain.

In 2000, following the launch of PETA’s (original) McCruelty campaign, McDonald’s made some basic animal welfare improvements. Since that time, the company has refused to eliminate the worst abuses that its chickens suffer, including abuses during slaughter. This cruelty could be illegal if dogs or cats—or even pigs or cows—were the victims.

The first 200 people to snap a photo of their McCruelty-fighting finger in front of a McDonald’s location and send the photo to us using the form below will receive their very own McCruelty button. Also, upload the photo to your Facebook page and show the world that you’re hatin’ it!

Watch this small video and take A call. CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO

CLICK HERE and start uploading your submissions and participate in this noble cause.

Or more, you could also send a message to McDonald’s Restaurants and demand that it phase in the exclusive use of chickens killed by CAK by requiring that its suppliers switch to this method.

For a better tomorrow…………CHEERS

Born To Win. . . . . . .

We all have hopes and dreams. Things we’d like to change and things we’d like to stay the same. But some of us seem to be better at realizing those hopes and dreams than others.

There are all sorts of factors that distinguish life’s winners from those who don’t do so well. Of course, chance is one of them, along with other causes outside people’s control. Of those things that are in our control, one seems to be key. That is, the ability to overcome obstacles.

Some like to believe the really successful don’t face as many obstacles as the rest of us. They were born smarter, richer and better looking. Life’s rewards simply fell in their laps. But of course, this isn’t really true.

We all have big problems we need to face. Everybody’s got something they wish was different, or something they’re afraid of occurring. Sometimes, the things that stand in our path seem so big and monstrous – so inhuman – that we wonder how we can ever deal with them.

How can we hope to overcome something so difficult?

The problem often isn’t only lack of motivation, time or resources. With many challenges, it’s difficult to see where to even get started on a solution. We’d like to do something, but what?

And so many people just put up with what’s there and look for methods to deal with it – religion, alcohol, philosophy, denial, whatever.

But there’s a certain breed of people for whom that’s not true. They’ll try anything to overcome the barriers standing between them and what they want. They simply refuse to give up in the face of adversity.

Take the famous scientist Stephen Hawking. The challenges facing him early in life were enormous. He was diagnosed with motor neuron disease when he was 21, and spent most of his adult life as a quadriplegic. He is almost completely paralyzed, and relies on a machine to help him talk. Despite this, he managed to become one of the most famous scientists of the twentieth century.

People look at someone like Bill Gates today, and imagine he was born to be successful. But I’m sure if you looked back at the early days of Microsoft, you would have seen a different story. He would have struggled with the same problems any new business owner does – lack of money, staff problems, lost sales, doubt and set-backs. Gates overcame all these and built his company into one of the most successful in history.

Champion sportspeople are the same. We see them score the winning goal and imagine they were born that way. But behind that goal is years of early mornings, frustration, uncertainty and pain. Ten thousand scary obstacles were faced and overcome in the lead-up to that winning goal.

In many cases, the ability to conquer difficult obstacles is the very definition of a winner. We all face similar challenges, but some give up sooner than others.

It’s those that progress furthest along the obstacle-course we call life who often win the biggest prizes. Learn to face-up to adversity and you too can join their ranks.

Paul Predicts FIFA 2010 Winner

Is this truly a wonder or just another coincidence..?? Well, it definetly appears to be more than that. Paul The orcale wil be the best judge. Fopr quite sometime now iss been talk of the town. Our paul has now got 100% accuracy predicting 6 of 6 matches accurately.

Its simply remarkable i guess. We really need to encourage and feel proud about this fact. Its quite dissappointing to know that Paul has got death threats from losing team’s fans and game lovers. That’s the saddest part. What can an harmless animal do other than being honest and starightforward. Paul and similar other beings definetly cant play hide n seek, cheat, and run around fooling people lkike most other people out there do.

They just do what’s correct to them without of couirse harming none. What’s the point in killing such an animal of repute. Its told what it needs to be done and i guess its following its instinct while choosing between any 2 teams. Its a great marvel that Paul has such psychic powers.

Just a few hours back Paul has chosen spain is gonna win the World Cup for the first time in their history. So lets watch out…….

In a live television broadcast watched across the world, Paul placed himself on a container carrying the Spanish flag, as opposed to one containing the Dutch flag.

The two-year-old celebrity octopus has accurately picked the outcome of all six of Germany’s World Cup matches so far, took just three minutes to decide who the winner would be.

No-one is sure whether its really the psychic power of paul working or just a chance. Whatever the result maybe lets be sportive and try no to harm other beings. Everyone here needs respect, so lets do it.
